Creative Drama Camp Ages 6-11
ROMEOW AND DROOLIET
• June 23-27, 2008 (PERFORMANCE JUNE 27)
• Ages 6-11
• 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, early drop off starts at 7:30 AM
• $250 (plus $25 non-refundable application fee)
Austin Shakespeare Festival and The Scottish Rite Children's Theatre are pleased to announce Romeow and Drooliet, a creative drama camp for ages 6-11. Based on William Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet , AND Nina Laden's book Romeow and Drooliet. The story follows a star-crossed feline and pooch through various adventures. Fortunately, love conquers all in this children-friendly "tail". Students will perform in an original adaptation of Romeow and Drooliet at the Friday workshop performance. The week's activities feature creative collaboration, teamwork and improvisation. Campers will also discover the transformation that theater makes possible in a structured creative environment. By the end of the week, the goal is to share and relish the joy of language while learning about one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays.
